Introduction
Wuhan is situated at the confluence of the Yangtze River and its greatest branch-the Hanjiang River, which divide Wuhan into three parts: Hankou, Hanyang and Wuchang that are generally known as Wuhan's Three Towns. Wuhan, the provincial capital of Hubei, is one of the major economic and industrial cities in China. It has a population of 7,811,900 by the end of 2003.
The Yellow Crane Tower, one of Four Major Towers in China, is situated on Snake Hill of Wuchang Distict. It was originally built in 223 AD with a history of over 1700 years. But previously it was destroyed in frequent disasters and rebuilt. The new Yellow Crane Tower was completed in June 1985, and listed by National Tourism Administration into National Best Forty Scenic Spots for Tourists.
