Introduction
Located on the Yangtze River, Nanjing is the center of politics, economy and culture in the middle & lower reach of Yangtze River both in ancient and modern times. The first inhabitants found in the cave of Tang Mountains are believed to live 300 thousand years ago. The city was first established in 472 BC, since then there had been ten feudal dynasties making it capital. Together with Beijing, Xi’an and Luoyang, she is regarded as one of China’s four ancient capitals. Being “the capital of ten dynasties”, and a city of historical culture, Nanjing boasts a long history, splendid culture, beautiful landscape, and numerous sites and ruins.
